This month marks Bruce Benson’s 10th anniversary of becoming president of the University of Colorado, the institution where he earned his degree and which he long supported while working in business, philanthropy and civic leadership.
The new executive director of the Colorado Department of Higher Education, Kim Hunter Reed, Ph.D., wore the purple-and-gold garb of Louisiana State University for last month’s College Friday. Naturally, a piece of her heart remains in her native state, where she earned three degrees (two from LSU) and worked as a higher education official.
Scott Adler’s political awareness began at a young age. His parents weren’t politicians, but they were politically aware, which “seeped into his childhood,” Adler said.
The Nov. 8 general election ballot will feature three races for seats on the nine-member University of Colorado Board of Regents. Victors will begin serving their six-year terms in January.
