In memoriam: Regent Emeritus Paul Schauer
Paul Schauer

Schauer’s time on the board, when he represented the 6th Congressional District, included a term as chair in 2006. Prior to that, he served in the Colorado House of Representatives from 1979 to 1998.

Schauer was a dedicated public servant and a tireless supporter of higher education, as a legislator and a regent. Above all, he was a great champion of CU who was beloved by his many friends and colleagues within the university.

His passing is a loss for the CU community and the state of Colorado. However, he leaves an enduring legacy.

In lieu of flowers, the Schauer family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s and Cognition Center Fund at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Contributions in memory of Regent Emeritus Schauer may also be mailed to the University of Colorado Foundation at P.O. Box 17126, Denver, CO 80217-9155.

A memorial service will be held in the spring of 2025, with details to follow.
