In memoriam: Regent Emeritus Jerry G. Rutledge
Regent Emeritus Jerry G. Rutledge, who served on the Board of Regents from 1995 to 2007, died Jan. 9, 2025. He was 80.
Rutledge served twice as board chair. He represented the 5th Congressional District.
Rutledge was a member of the board that contributed to many key changes, including the move of the CU Health Sciences Center in Denver to the CU Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora. He later served for eight years on the University of Colorado Hospital Board.
An alumnus of the University of Colorado Boulder, Rutledge made CU a significant part of his life. He loved the university, football, basketball and his fraternity, where he met many who became lifelong friends. He was the ultimate Buff supporter and fan.
His family is accepting donations in his memory to the Jerry Rutledge University of Colorado Football Scholarship. Checks made out to “Jerry Rutledge University of Colorado Football Scholarship” may be mailed to:
