The Research Experience for Community College Students, or RECCS (pronounced Rex), is a paid summer research internship program at the University of Colorado Boulder open to all Colorado community college students. RECCS gives community college students an authentic research experience where they explore environmental or geosciences and gain the confidence to transition to a four-year program in the STEM disciplines. A CIRES (Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences) program, it was initiated by former faculty member and current Regent At-Large Lesley Smith.
University of Colorado Regent John “Jack” Kroll, chair of the CU Board of Regents, on Monday announced he will not seek reelection to the board in 2022. A Denver native, Kroll represents Colorado’s 1st Congressional District on the board. The Democrat was first elected to the Board of Regents in 2016 and began serving in January 2017. His term ends in January 2023. Kroll was elected to chair the board in June 2021.

CU on the Air spoke with CU Denver’s Carrie Makarewicz, associate professor of urban and regional planning in the College of Architecture and Planning, about the housing and commuting crises and what is in the works to remedy them.
