Discussions about immigration in the U.S. frequently center around immigrants’ impact on public safety, how immigrants affect the labor outcomes of U.S.-born workers, and the financial strain brought on by the influx of new migrants. But, what does the research say about the impact of immigration on U.S.-born individuals? In new research, CU Denver economics professors Chloe East, Hani Mansour and Andrea Velásquez help to clarify what is rhetoric and what is reality.
The CU community is invited to be part of the inaugural CU Showcase: Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Impact, an event celebrating the remarkable innovations and entrepreneurial spirit thriving across our four campuses. Set for 1-6 p.m. Oct. 4 at the CU Anschutz Medical Campus, the CU Showcase is presented by CU’s Innovation & Entrepreneurship Initiative. The event will explore key themes including innovations supporting aging, fostering inclusion and community resilience, incubating and accelerating diverse founders, and breakthroughs in health care, quantum technology, climate resilience and the outdoor industries.
