Seven University of Colorado faculty members traveled to Hospital Infantil - Federico Gomez in Mexico City and gave a total of 14 lectures at the Second International Conference on Pediatric Neurology.

Lecture topics included epilepsy, neuromuscular disorders, neuroophthalmology, neuroradiology, stroke and neurosurgery. The conference’s 200 attendees learned different methods of patient management.

Conference organizers were Eduardo Barragan, M.D. (chief of pediatric neurology, Hospital Infantil) and Andrew White, M.D. (chief of pediatric neurology, Denver Health Medical Center). The lectures were very well received and plans are currently being undertaken for another larger conference that will cater not only to pediatric neurologists, but will also have a separate tract for pediatricians. This conference is expected to be in June-July 2018. Those interested in attending or contributing to the conference may contact Andy at Andrew.white@ucdenver.edu.

In conjunction with this conference, also being developed is an exchange program that enables pediatric neurology residents to observe at Children's Hospital Colorado. To date, there have been two observers who also were excellent ambassadors. Three other observers also have applied. It is also expected that some of residents here will be given the opportunity to do rotations at Hospital Infantil.
