Dr. Schafran is a Lecturer in Geography at the University of Leeds. A planner by training, he holds an MA in Urban Planning from Hunter College (CUNY) and a Ph.D in City & Regional Planning from the University of California, Berkeley. His current research work includes projects on the future of regional governance in Northern England, the transformation of French and American suburbia, and varied work on social justice and urban social movements through the Contested Cities Network. Dr. Schafran is also an Adjoint Assistant Professor in the Department of Planning & Design at CU Denver.
