Saturday, September 16, 2017
10:00am – 11:15am
CU Boulder UMC Room 235
The CU Advocates will host a special pregame reception to feature CU Boulder's NASA GOLD mission. A CU Boulder LASP-built instrument will provide unprecedented imaging of the Earth’s upper atmosphere. It will be installed on a commercial satellite that will carry it into geostationary orbit some 22,000 miles above the Earth.
The Global-scale Observations of the Limb and Disk (GOLD) mission, led by the University of Central Florida (UCF) and built and operated by CU Boulder's LASP, features a collaboration with satellite owner-operator SES Government Solutions (SES GS) to place an ultraviolet instrument as a hosted payload on a commercial satellite.
