Colorado Bioscience Association SBIT/STTR Grant Writing Workshop

Wednesday, January 27–28, 2016
12:00am
Bioscience 2, Executive Conference Room, 12705 E Montbiew Blvd., Aurora, CO 80045

The Federal SBIR/STTR programs award over $2.6 billion in high risk R&D funding annually to qualified small businesses. The process is complex with a steep learning curve, but the impact of receiving $millions in non-dilutive funding is worth the effort.  This workshop covers all aspects of writing SBIR/STTR grants focused on life science technologies including:  eligibility, sources of funding, agency differences, understanding what reviewers look for, and step-by-step instruction on how to write each section of your proposal.  The program will provide detailed emphasis on the National Institutes of Health SBIR/STTR programs, but also include essential information about the National Science Foundation and Department of Defense programs. Space is limited to register early! If you have questions, please contact Tracey Nilson.

WHAT YOU’LL COME AWAY WITH:
•    Current information on the SBIR/STTR program
•    Strategies for targeting your proposal to meet the mission and requirements of the NIH
•    Common problems and pitfalls and how to avoid them
•    How to write the proposal to meet the reviewers’ expectations
•    Navigating the complicated process of submission
•    What to do once you learn you are going to be funded (and what to do next if you learn you are not)
