The University of Colorado's participation in the 2009 Colorado Combined Campaign (CCC) continues this week, giving employees the opportunity to help hundreds of charitable programs and services throughout the state.

Established in 1988, the CCC is the primary charitable solicitation program for CU and state government. Donations to the workplace campaign are voluntary, confidential and tax-deductible. More than 7,000 employees throughout the state contributed to the campaign last year. CU is the campaign's largest donor; last year, 830 donors from throughout the university system contributed a total of $347,879.

"It doesn't take much to create a culture of giving," said Leonard Dinegar, senior vice president and chief of staff. "A pledge of as little as $1 a month is all it takes to get involved."

Suncor Energy has donated prizes to encourage participation. Every donor is eligible to win a $500 gas certificate or one of 30 gas certificates worth $50. Other giveaways include getaway stays at local hotels and ski passes at Colorado resorts.

Catalogs and pledge forms are being delivered to employees at all campuses and system offices, except at the University of Colorado Denver, which is running a paperless campaign. The move is aimed at helping the environment and cutting administrative costs. Pledges and one-time donations — via payroll deduction or credit card — may be made online.

When using the printed campaign contribution form, complete the information requested, make a copy for your records, and return the original to your department coordinator. To download a PDF of the pledge form, click here.

Online participation in the campaign is open to employees at all campuses. To make a pledge or one-time donation online:
