Chairman John “Jack” Kroll and the Board of Regents invite members of the CU community to take part in a series of open forums as the search for the university’s next president continues.

Each campus will host in-person discussions which also will be livestreamed; a forum for system administration will be virtual.

The board is particularly interested in what characteristics members of the university community would like to see in the next president, as well as input on the search process. Members of the Board of Regents will take part in the forums to hear perspectives and insights.

The event schedule is:

  • CU Boulder: 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, Glenn Miller Ballroom
  • UCCS: 10-11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 8, Berger Hall
  • CU Denver: 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, Terrace Room
  • CU Anschutz: Noon-1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, Education 2 South, L28-1102
  • System administration: 11 a.m.-noon Thursday, Nov. 11, via Zoom

Those who are unable to attend can submit comments here. The board will review all submissions.

A presidential search website has been created to provide information and track progress of the search.

Regents are leading outreach inside and outside the university as part of the search process. Board members are meeting with campus and system governance groups as well as business, diversity, legislative and community groups outside CU. See a sampling of the schedule of meetings on the presidential search site.

The regents have been working with procurement officers to name a search firm to assist with the search; that process is expected to be complete sometime this month.

Nominations for search committee members closed Oct. 21. The board will discuss the nominees and expects to name committee members later this month. The presidential search committee will be chaired by Regent Lesley Smith.
