Patricia Moritz, dean of the College of Nursing, recently signed a five-year international cooperative agreement with the Japanese Red Cross Hiroshima College of Nursing. The signing symbolizes the next phase of the ongoing relationship between the two schools. Hiroshima College of Nursing President Sachie Shindo and Moritz inked the partnership during ceremonies at the school. They were joined by CON colleagues Kathy Magilvy, professor and associate dean for academic programs and Jean Watson, distinguished professor. … The School of Medicine’s Robert Brayden, professor of pediatrics, was selected as the first Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Childhood Immunization Champion for Colorado. The CDC and the CDC Foundation launched the new awards program to honor immunization champions across the 50 states and the District of Columbia during National Infant Immunization Week, April 21-28, 2012. The CDC cited his “commitment and leadership to the Colorado Children’s Immunization Coalition, the Vaccine Advisory Committee for Colorado, and other statewide immunization coalitions.” …  Jerry Wilson, CTO and Executive Director of IT at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, has received a Ones to Watch award from CIO, which provides content and community resources for information technology executives and leaders. The awards were presented at The CIO Leadership Event in Florida. Wilson and other Ones to Watch honorees are considered rising stars in IT.
