Video: Cyber Range project strengthens cybersecurity education, workforce development
Through the Cyber Range creation project, UCCS and CU Denver are helping prepare the next generation of cybersecurity professionals through immersive, hands-on learning experiences.
Supported by a CU Next Award from the CU system, the initiative established a shared Cyber Range environment that allows students to train in realistic cybersecurity scenarios, simulating the kinds of threats and challenges faced by businesses, government agencies and organizations across the country.
The project gives students opportunities to develop practical skills in areas such as network defense, threat detection and incident response while strengthening collaboration between the Colorado Springs and Denver campuses. Faculty also are using the Cyber Range to enhance coursework, expand research opportunities and create new pathways into Colorado’s growing cybersecurity workforce.
By combining innovative technology with experiential learning, the program is helping to position UCCS and CU Denver as leaders in cybersecurity education and workforce development.
See the video above to learn how students and faculty are using the Cyber Range to tackle real-world cybersecurity challenges and prepare for careers protecting critical systems and infrastructure.
