Tuesday Tucks Me In: A Look at Hidden Disabilities

//
Categories:
Monday, April 11, 2016
6:30pm – 8:30pm
St. Cajetan’s, Auraria Campus, Denver

The event promises to be an exhilarating and educational look at hidden disability through one man's (and his service dog's) perspective.

The Auraria Student Council for Exceptional Children invites you to hear Captain Luis Carlos Montalván, an international award-winning New York Times bestselling author, speaker, and advocate. Tuesday is his beloved service dog and recipient of the American Kennel Club Award for Canine Excellence. A 17-year veteran of the Army, Captain Montalván served multiple tours abroad and was decorated with numerous awards including two Bronze Stars, the Purple Heart, the Army Commendation Medal for Valor, and the Combat Action Badge.

This event is sponsored by the Auraria Student Council for Exceptional Children and funded in part by a grant from the Office of Diversity Initiatives and Inclusion.

$10 suggested donation; money raised will support scholarships to conferences and future professional development events.

We will also have both of his books, Until Tuesday: A Wounded Warrior and the Golden Retriever Who Saved Him, and Tuesday Tucks Me In, for sale at the event.
