5:30pm – 8:00pm
Student Commons Building Room 2600, 1201 Larimer St., CU Denver

The Distinguished Faculty Lecture Series is presented by the Office of the Chancellor.  All lectures are free and open to the public.

CU Denver is pleased to announce the inaugural lecture will be given by Professor Stephanie Santorico, PhD with her lecture Cheek to Cheek: Genetic Discoveries and You.

The data revolution in genetics has expanded our understanding of many diseases and traits.  You name it, and scientists have likely looked at the underlying genetics!  With the ability to study millions of locations in a person’s genome, a wealth of information is available. These discoveries are now marketed directly to consumers through companies such as 23andMe and Ancestry.

Join us for an evening with Dr. Stephanie Santorico to learn how these discoveries apply to you, as we step through the science using her own personal history with heart disease as a guide.  A reception will follow the lecture in the Student Commons Speer Gallery.
