The CU Advocates will host a special pregame reception at the Fiske Planetarium to spotlight Joe Romig who owns one of the four retired jerseys in CU football history (No. 67) finished sixth in the 1961 Heisman Trophy balloting. He was a two-time first-team All-American, and is one of just five players to have earned first-team all-conference honors three times. He was the Buffs' 1961 team captain and the United Press International's Lineman of the Year. He is a member of the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame (inducted in 1973), the College Football Hall of Fame (inducted in 1984) and the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame (inducted in 1989). Romig earned a Rhodes Scholarship to attend Oxford University in England. Joe has a passion  for physics so we also will feature highlights from the physics department.

Joe will give his perspective on CU on Earth, highlighting some of CU’s activities in addressing the world’s problems. He wants to emphasize the versatility of a CU education-the students may well end up working in fields that are remote from their majors, but their education at CU will provide them a foundation  to succeed whatever they do. He will also emphasize the their education can never stop-it must continue,

CU's renowned astronomer Doug Duncan will spotlight the many space missions CU has been involved with over the years. He will show images and take full advantage of the planetarium to showcase CU’s work in space while highlighting the state-of-the-art technology at Fiske. REGISTER HERE.
