CU Lunch and Learn: Impact of Personalized Medicine

Wednesday, May 24, 2017
11:30am – 1:00pm
CU Anschutz Medical Campus, Ridgway Conference Room, 7th Floor of the Academic Office Building

A newly established center at the CU Anschutz Medical Campus will harness the power of big data to deliver targeted care that is specific to individual patients. The Center for Personalized Medicine and Bioinformatics aims to give physicians and researchers a deeper understanding of disease while helping fine-tune care for each unique patient. CU says the work being done at this center will "change the way we take care of patients, it will change the product the patients see and it should improve the quality of care patients get."

SPEAKER
Kathleen Barnes, Ph.D., joined the faculty of the CU School of Medicine in spring 2015 as the director of the new center. Her team of clinical geneticists and research scientists—from pathologists to immunologists to oncologists—built a system that relies on the latest technology to organize and analyze patients’ medical and genetic information. Optional tour of CU's BIOBANK will follow the program, space is limited for the tour so registration is required. There is a nominal cost to attend this event, includes lunch and a beverage.

Co-hosted by the CU Advocates program and the CU Forever Buffs Metro Denver Alumni Chapter. MORE INFORMATION AND TO REGISTER.
