The CU Advocates program in the Office of the President and the CU-Boulder Denver Metro Alumni Chapter invite you to a CU Lunch and Learn, March 30. Learn about the research and scientific discoveries at CU-Boulder's Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES).  As a headwaters state, Colorado's water resources serves the needs of not only 5.5 million residents, and its agriculture, industry, and ecosystems, but also those of 20 downstream states. 

Learn about:

  • Ongoing and likely future impacts of climate change
  • Recent trends 
  • Latest projections of future climate
  • How water providers in Colorado are preparing for these challenges

Guest speaker: Jeff Lukas, Research Integration Specialist with the Western Water Assessment, Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES), CU-Boulder. Jeff Lukas is part of the Western Water Assessment (WWA), a university-based applied research program. His diverse research and outreach activities reflect the program's broad mandate to collaborate with water resources managers and other stakeholders to better understand and plan for climate-related vulnerabilities in the Rocky Mountain West.
