The CU Advocates program is pleased to partner with the South Metro Denver Chamber's Health and Wellness Council to offer an informative talk about about Ebola, featuring guest speaker:

Eric M. Poeschla, M.D., CU School of Medicine
Medicine In the Time of Ebola: Need, Challenge and Opportunity

Dr. Poeschla and his team study how “emerging viruses” such as Ebola have evolved to cross the species barrier into humans and can propagate in the human body. These researchers also are working on ways to block the replication of such viruses. Dr. Poeschla has helped lead the CU School of Medicine’s Ebola preparedness efforts.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Ebola is a rare and deadly disease caused by infection with a strain of Ebola virus. The 2014 Ebola epidemic is the largest in history, affecting multiple countries in West Africa. Register here.
