Over 93 percent of eligible employees made a positive election during open enrollment (OE) this year, and Payroll & Benefit Services (PBS) would like to thank you for your participation and helping make OE a success.

Beginning Monday, May 7, PBS will be conducting OE sessions, and representatives from the university’s and state’s group insurance plans will be hosting Carrier Fairs on each campus to help in your decision making.

The 2012-13 benefits Open Enrollment (OE) – a positive enrollment, meaning all employees and retirees under age 65 must take action even if they previously waived coverage – begins at 8 a.m. Monday.

Open Enrollment (OE), the one time each year when University of Colorado faculty and staff may make changes to benefits plans, begins at 8 a.m. April 30 and ends at 5 p.m. May 25.

The university’s Kaiser medical plan has typically offered greater benefits at a lower cost as compared to the state’s offering, which led many classified staff to request access to the CU Kaiser plan.

Pending approval of the trustees of the University of Colorado Health and Welfare Trust, group medical benefit contracts will be awarded to Cigna and Kaiser Permanente, effective July 1, 2012.

As part of the continuing efforts to consolidate University of Colorado system administrative services, Payroll & Benefit Services (PBS) will be moving.
