A new world-class model for healthier living has been built on the Anschutz Medical Campus, and officials, benefactors and dignitaries gathered Tuesday to celebrate the opening of the Anschutz Health and Wellness Center.

CU-Boulder Geological Sciences professor emeritus Bruce Curtis died Feb. 5, 2012, in Boulder after a short illness. He was 93. The health screenings and health assessments have wrapped up, but the Be Colorado wellness journey is just getting started.

More than 2,000 University of Colorado faculty and staff started their Be Colorado wellness journey by completing the health assessment.

Since the campaign began in July 2006, more than $530 million in private gifts and grants have come through the CU Foundation.
